W's, a's and a m.

Thats right..Our William is spelling his name and attempting
to write it own his own. I gave him a pencil and a piece
of paper Sunday afternoon. I asked him to write his name
and he did. He got stuck on the I's and the L's but I could
clearly read the W, a and the m. He is learning the difference
between the Upper case an lower case Alphabet. We can't
spell things out loud anymore when he is around..WHY?.Because
he knows what we are talking about.. Yeah.. The boys knows
how to Spell Mcdonalds, Candy & Ice cream. The 3 things
we try to keep quiet about because he gets mad when he doesn't get
those things when he thinks he should be allowed to. He still wants
to operate on his own schedule. Which has been changing.
Thats been a hard pill to swallow but we are doing it.
Its been a rough road but.. Somebodys gotta travel it.
LOL. Thanks for reading ~ xoxoxo~ The Davis Gang

A Sad Face?

William got a Sad face yesterday... For pushing on the playground.
I was a little bite taken back. Has kindergarten turned him into the
terror of the playground? The bully? The mean kid who beats little
kids up when they try to swing or go down a slide. I can't imagine
my child being that way. He doesn't talk to anyone who is not in
his inner circle. He doesn't interact with the other children. He acts
as if they do not exist. So pushing on the playground... Are you
serious? So I have to take a step back and look at this from
another angle..

Maybe William isn't getting enough Sensory input from (OT)..Wait
has that even started yet at school? Humm.. Better ask.
(note to self). So that might be why he is pushing. He's
looking for that input threw his hands.Maybe this is a
Game he has made up and no one knows the rules except for him.
Their are so many things I can think of. But here I sit wondering.
I almost want to cry because It makes me feel like no one wants to try to
figure out why his reactions are like they are except for me.
But while he's at school I can't see what goes on. Communication is
my life line and I feel like I'm being left out the Loop. I
guess I'm a little spoiled from his previous teachers. I was always told
when things happened at home and I even had them suggest things to
try at home. . . . Humm....What to do.. </HTML>
